Its so amazing that after decades Cyprus
is again on the movie industry map and
if the local government understands that
the island is a perfect film location thats
gonna last for ever.
Cyprus was a filming location for many big
productions as Exodus ,the longest day,pope
joan,they who dare,and many other not only
from hollywood.The island was a great filming
destination for greek,italian,french,indians and
finnish filmakers during the years but the local
authorities have been not so smart for years...
and the island was not a destination after the
cold war with some exceptions.
Now the local government after years and years
of planning has brought us great actors like the
fantastic william baldwin and soon nic cage and
others like frank grilo,tony jaa ,randy coutoure..
and allain moussi for a sci fi martial arts movie
which is called ziou zitsu .
Cyprus was a british colony and the people here can speak english and also the british army has bases here.Many thousands of british,irish and russians are living here as well as indians,arabs filipinos and lots of others.So its easy forfilmakers to use cheap but good extras,as well as the great locations like the beach were the goddess of love was born or even maybe the castles, and the scycrapers,marinas,hotels and the desert scape areas.
Cyprus has a lot of english speaking actors with an international career as well as crew and its not difficult to bring stuntmen from east europe or from asia here.This island has sun almost all the year and also taxation is lower now just for the investors who are coming here every day.
The people in Cyprus are so great fans of the hollywood movie industry who holds the first position on cinema tickets and dvd sales.Its a great area for film business.
